How membership begins.
Membership follows an interview. As we hold no more than ten members, we work through enquiries in the order they arrive. We are currently receiving preliminary ones.
Five stages.
- 01Contact
Enquiry
Write to us through the form. Brief is perfectly fine. You will hear from us within a few days.
- 02Conversation
Interview
We ask what is troubling you, how your family is placed, and how things have gone so far. Online is welcome. Nothing is signed at this meeting.
- 03At Home
An assessment at home
We visit, and look at your condition, the way your day moves through the house, and how your family is placed. The refrigerator and the bedroom, if you will show them to us, make the design considerably more accurate.
- 04Terms
Agreement
We present the membership and the design of the first year. The agreement follows only once you are satisfied with both.
- 05Beginning
Commencement
Your director is appointed and your private line is given to you. The first month is weighted toward gathering the record.
Questions we are asked.
01 How does this differ from a medical institution?
Wellness Director Azabu is not a medical institution. We do not diagnose, treat or prescribe; all of that is performed by physicians and medical institutions. Our role is to research where you should be seen, make the bookings, hold the year of screenings, and carry the findings back into daily life. Where medical care is required, we introduce an appropriate institution.
02 What happens if all ten places are taken?
You would wait for one to open. We work through enquiries in the order they arrive, so we would hold your place and tell you where things stand. Taking on more than we can carry would serve you worse than asking you to wait.
03 How do I actually make a request?
You send a single line to the private desk given to you on joining. Most members use a messaging app; the telephone or email are equally fine. Nothing needs to be carefully worded. “Kyoto next week.” “About my mother.” That will do — and if anything is missing, we will ask.
04 How quickly do you reply?
Your director takes requests directly — during weekday hours on the Wellness Membership, at any hour on Signature. Anything that only needs confirming is answered on the spot. Where research or arrangement is involved we take the time it needs, and come back with a shortlist rather than a list.
05 Where do you operate?
We begin in central Tokyo — Azabu and the surrounding wards of Minato — and extend from there. Arrangements while you are travelling or living abroad are welcome. For parents living elsewhere in Japan, please speak to us.
06 Is there a limit on how often I may ask?
There is no cap on the number of requests. Requests involving external providers or purchases incur those costs separately. Where a request is beyond what our structure can properly carry, we will say so plainly.
07 How are costs settled?
Treatment fees, medical costs, travel and accommodation, goods and payments to external providers are charged separately from the membership fee. Amounts are confirmed with you before each arrangement proceeds; nothing is incurred without your agreement. The mechanics of settlement are set out at the time of agreement.
08 What is the term, and how does cancellation work?
Membership runs on an annual basis. Renewal and cancellation terms are set out in writing at the time of agreement, including the treatment of cancellation part-way through a term.
09 How is confidentiality handled?
Confidentiality is agreed in writing at the outset, and everyone involved in the work is bound by it. We describe our structure and our standards, but nothing concerning a member is disclosed. It is the same reason you will find no results or testimonials on this site.
10 How is wearable data — and are screening results — handled?
Wearable records and screening results include what Japanese law designates as special care-required personal information. Before we hold any of it, we explain the purpose, how it is stored, who within our team may see it, and what would be shared with an external specialist — and we proceed only with your consent. Please see our Privacy Policy for details.
11 What happens to my data if I leave?
On departure, we delete the data and records we hold at your request, and confirm when deletion is complete, other than anything we are required by law to retain.
12 Must I wear a device?
It is not required. A daily record does, however, make the direction more precise. If you do not use one, let us discuss it at the interview. We currently anticipate devices such as the Oura Ring.
13 Can family be added later?
Family and parents are directed under the Signature Membership. Members who begin with Wellness may move across when the need arises.
14 I already have a trainer and a doctor I trust.
Please keep them. We do not replace existing relationships. We stand between them, hold the record in one place, and direct around what is missing.
15 When does the service begin?
Wellness Director Azabu is at the concept stage. Once a start date is settled, we will be in touch in the order in which preliminary enquiries were received.
