Scenes

A member’s year.

Rather than list the services, it is quicker to walk through a year. The body, the medicine, the household, the family — and how they connect in the hands of one director.

The morning that opens a year
  1. 01 January

The screening, and the year ahead

An overnight screening is arranged, cars included. When the findings arrive, your director and the specialists read them; the change from last year is already held here as a record, and only what moved is set out on one sheet. From those figures, this year’s training intensity and dietary direction are set. All five supplements in use are noted, and a plan to verify them across the year is drawn up.

  2. 02 February

    Verification begins

A blood kit arrives at your home. A small sample from a fingertip, posted back. That gives us the baseline. Supplements are verified one at a time, because changing several at once makes it impossible to know which worked. The first continues; the others pause until the next sample.

  3. 03 March

    Something in the lower back

A message in the morning. That week’s training becomes conditioning, and in parallel three orthopaedic clinics are researched and listed by how soon you could be seen. The appointment is placed where the week allows. Afterwards, the physician’s instructions reshape the training. We do not form a view on symptoms; diagnosis and treatment belong to physicians.

  4. 04 April

It did not work, so it stops

The second sample. The first supplement had not moved its value. It stops, and the second begins. Not continuing what does not work is also our job. The same month, the trainer was not the right fit; three weeks had not held, so the person and the discipline both change.

  5. 05 May

A fortnight before your wife’s birthday

We do not wait to be asked. Three proposals arrive two weeks ahead: none a repeat of last year, none awkward against that week, and all mindful of something she mentioned liking. The booking, the car and the gift follow without a further request.

  6. 06 June

    Sleep turns shallow

The record showed more waking in the night. Bedroom humidity was changed first, and measured for two weeks. It did not return. The pillow was changed, and two weeks later it had. The cause was the pillow. Because only one thing changes at a time, we know which.

  7. 07 July

    Five days in Hawaii

Flights, rooms, transfers, restaurants where children are genuinely welcome — and a shortlist of clinics where you could be seen in Japanese or English, handed over with the itinerary. Given the time difference and how you sleep, the first day is kept loose. June’s pillow is sent ahead.

  8. 08 August

    Verification ends

The fourth sample. Of the five verified across the year, two moved the figures. The other three stop. The two that work continue to be delivered so they never run out. The cost of the other three, and the effort of taking them, ends here.

  9. 09 September

A structure for your parents in Osaka

Household help and a monthly visit are put in place. Your mother’s check-up is arranged and accompanied. Once a month one of our people visits and a summary reaches you — you alone. To your parents, we are the people their son arranged.

  10. 10 October

    The six-month check

What gave pause in January is measured again. Six months after training and meals were rebuilt, the figures are back within range. Had they not been, the direction would have changed. Without checking, there is no way to decide whether to continue.

  11. 11 November

    A month of dinners

Week by week the dietitian rebuilds the meals on either side. The dinners themselves are not moved. Restaurants follow, private rooms and gifts included. If sleep runs shallow, we begin with the bedroom — and because June is on record, the pillow is checked first this time.

  12. 12 December

Year-end gifts, and the year reviewed

Gifts are directed to clients and family. In the same month, the year is bound into one record. What was tried, what worked, what stopped. Supplements from five to two. The trainer changed once. A pillow returned the sleep. The back was seen in March and has been quiet since. Next January’s screening is already booked. And then January comes.

The scenes shown are illustrations for the purpose of explaining the service, and are not accounts of actual members.

One Line

The year becomes continuous.

January’s findings inform March’s judgement. April’s decision to stop a supplement could not have been made without February’s baseline. What June discovered about a pillow was used in July’s itinerary and again in November. Arranged separately, none of this happens.
